Available courses
Recommended Guidelines for Testosterone Replacement Therapy in Males and Females are intended to promote safe, appropriate, and evidence-informed care for patients receiving hormone therapy. Licensees who prescribe or manage testosterone therapy should be familiar with current clinical standards, patient evaluation requirements, monitoring expectations, risks, benefits, and documentation practices. This course covers recommended guidelines and best practices for evaluating, prescribing, and monitoring testosterone replacement therapy in both male and female patients, with emphasis on patient safety, appropriate indications, informed consent, and ongoing clinical follow-up.
Agreements between anesthesiologists and AAs are based on rules and protocols of the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners (Medical Board). The current rules require that supervising anesthesiologists and AAs obtain continuing medical education when beginning a supervisory relationship and periodically during the relationship. Licensees currently in supervisory relationships and those contemplating doing so must be very familiar with the current rules to ensure they remain in compliance. This course covers the responsibilities and best practices for supervising anesthesiologists and AAs, whether currently practicing together or anticipating doing so.
Agreements between physicians and advanced practice nurses are based on joint rules of the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners (Medical Board) and the Alabama Board of Nursing (Board of Nursing). The current rules require that collaborating physicians, certified registered nurse practitioners (CRNPs), and certified nurse midwives (CNMs) obtain continuing medical education when beginning collaboration and periodically during ongoing collaborations. Licensees currently in collaboration and those contemplating doing so must be very familiar with the current rules to ensure they remain in compliance. This activity will review the current rules and focus on strategies to implement them.
